High-intensity interval training (HIIT) is a form of interval training alternating short periods of intense anaerobic exercise with less intense recovery periods. It is a total body, heart pumping, aerobic and strength conditional class and combines an all-out 100% effort through quick intense bursts of exercised followed by short sometimes active recovery periods. HIIT is known to improve oxygen consumption, reduce blood pressure and raise your metabolic rate for hours after you finish the session.
